Game 1
The Yotes jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the Eagles in the bottom of the 1
st inning. Embry-Riddle was able to tie up the score in the top of the 2
nd.Â
Owen Cain started the inning when he was hit by a pitch.Â
Kaleb Shannon then hit a single followed by a double from
Kaden Menard to make the score 3-1. ERAU added another run on a sac fly by
Konner Nelson and Menard scored on an error by the College of Idaho defense to tie the score at 3-3.Â
COI retook the lead at 4-3 in the bottom of the second inning but once again the Eagles battled back.Â
Miles Murphy came around to score on a wild pitch after he led off the top of the 4
th inning with a double.Â
Embry-Riddle couldn't string any more hits together as the Yotes went on to win the game 12-4.Â
Game 2
Both offenses were featured in a high scoring game two as the Yotes edged the Eagles 17-14.
After College of Idaho took a 2-0 lead into the fourth inning, ERAU went up 6-2.Â
Roberto Garza-Nunez led off the inning with a single then Shannon was walked to put runners on first and second. With one out,
Sawyer Stout singled to center field to bring in the first run. Nelson then hit a double to bring home Stout and
Blake Moore. Murphy was then walked to put runners at first and second for Warren. Back to back singles by Warren and Garza-Nunez made the score 6-2 in favor of the Eagles as the game headed to the bottom of the 4
th.Â
COI scored 12 runs in the bottom of the 4
th inning on 5 hits and one error by the ERAU defense.Â
The Yotes added to their lead in the bottom of the 6th inning with three more runs and as the game headed to the 7
th, College of Idaho led 17-6.Â
Embry-Riddle scored six more runs in the top of the 7
th inning. Stout had his second single of the game, Murphy doubled, Warren hit another single, and Garza-Nunez doubled to make the score 17-12.Â
ERAU would add two more runs in the top of the 9
th, but the Eagles couldn't complete their comeback.
Embry-Riddle and College of Idaho will play another double header on Saturday with the first game beginning at 12pm.
