Embry-Riddle led briefly as the Eagles scored in the top of the first inning, but the Wolverines answered right back with four runs and went on to win 19-1 in Orem, Utah on Sunday afternoon.
ERAU's run was scored by
Konner Nelson after he reached on a walk to begin the game. A single by
Owen Cain put two runners on and a single by
Roberto Garza-Nunez to follow loaded the bases for the Eagles. Nelson was able to score on a groundout by
Connor Rosinski.
Utah Valley answered right away in the bottom half of the inning with four runs and the Wolverines kept the bats going.
Embry-Riddle used seven different pitchers in the game. A
lexander Mullen pitched two scoreless innings giving up just two hits and
Zack Bauer pitched one inning as he struck out three UVU batters.
Garza-Nunez led the Eagles, finished the game 3-4 and Cain added two hits for the ERAU offense.
The final game of the series will be played tomorrow at UCCU Ballpark with first pitch at 11am AZ time.
