Embry-Riddle used steller pitching and timely hitting to earn two wins at Eagle Softball Field on Wednesday evening over the Nelson University Warriors. ERAU took game one 3-1 and followed tht with a 16-2 victory in the second game.
Game 1
First Inning Fireworks The Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. After a quick out, Autumn Sulusi singled to left field, setting the stage for Jade Bayless. Bayless delivered a powerful two-run home run, driving in Sulusi and giving Embry-Riddle an early 2-0 lead.
Nelson University Responds Nelson University managed to cut the deficit in the second inning. V. Philpot walked and advanced to third on a single by E. Rojas. Rojas then stole second, and Philpot scored on the play, making it 2-1. However, the Eagles' defense held strong, preventing further damage.
Pitching Dominance Embry-Riddle's pitcher, Vanessa Brink, was in top form, allowing only four hits and one run over seven innings. Brink struck out seven batters and walked just one, keeping Nelson University's hitters off balance throughout the game.
Insurance Run In the sixth inning, the Eagles added an insurance run. Bayless singled to left field and was driven home by a double from Kealey Myhre, extending the lead to 3-1. This run proved crucial as it provided a cushion for the Eagles heading into the final inning.
Final Out In the top of the seventh, Nelson University threatened with a single by D. Medina. However, the Eagles' defense came through once again, with Lily Anderson throwing out Medina attempting to steal second, sealing the victory for Embry-Riddle.

Game 2
Early Lead The Eagles set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning. Leah Salas singled to center field, followed by a two-run home run by Bayless, driving in Salas. Myhre then added a solo home run, giving Embry-Riddle a 3-0 lead.
Building Momentum In the second inning, the Eagles capitalized on a fielding error by Nelson University. Arianna Garcia reached first on an error by the right fielder and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Kayli Clark. Anderson then hit a two-run home run, extending the lead to 5-0.
Fourth Inning Explosion The fourth inning was a scoring bonanza for the Eagles, who put up nine runs. Anderson singled, and Salas hit a two-run home run. The inning continued with walks to Sulusi and Bayless, and a triple by Garcia that drove in three runs. Anderson capped the inning with a two-run single, bringing the score to 16-0.
Nelson University's Response Nelson University managed to score two runs in the fifth inning. D. Galaz walked, and A. Rodriguez singled. S. Duke then doubled to center field, driving in Galaz. E. Rojas reached on a fielder's choice, allowing Duke to score, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles' massive lead.
Pitching and Defense Embry-Riddle's pitcher, Claire Streeter, was dominant, allowing only two hits and no runs over four innings, striking out three. Presley Daniel also contributed on the mound, allowing two runs in the fifth inning.
