Game Recap: Baseball |

Eagles Take Game One, Royals Win Game Two

Embry-Riddle split with #6 Hope International on Saturday as the Eagles won the first game 11-8 followed by a close 15-16 loss in the second game at Eagle Baseball Field in Prescott, Arizona.

Game 1:
After a quick first inning with both pitchers facing the minimum, and another 1-2-3 inning from ERAU pitcher Brody Gundert,  Embry-Riddle seized the opportunity, with James Warren's single and a stolen base setting the stage for Blake Moore's two-run homer, giving them an early lead.

The third inning saw Hope International struggle again, with only S. Davis managing a single. Embry-Riddle capitalized on their momentum, scoring three more runs thanks to a combination of hits and errors by Hope International. By the end of the third inning, Embry-Riddle led 5-0.

Hope International fought back in the fourth inning. M. Pinal hit a solo home run, and S. Davis's RBI single brought the score to 5-2. Embry-Riddle responded with another run in the bottom of the fourth, extending their lead to 6-2.

The fifth inning saw Hope International score another run, but Embry-Riddle's defense held firm. In the sixth inning, Hope International managed to score again, but Embry-Riddle's lead remained intact. The seventh inning was a turning point, with Embry-Riddle scoring three runs, including a two-RBI single by  Moore, extending their lead to 9-3.

Hope International continued to fight, scoring a run in the eighth inning, but Embry-Riddle's defense remained strong. In the ninth inning, Hope International mounted a final comeback, scoring four runs, including a three-run homer by C. Moran. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Embry-Riddle's lead.
