Embry-Riddle (AZ) men's soccer dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Eastern Oregon on Sunday afternoon in Caldwell, Idaho to finish out the road trip.
Despite a determined defensive effort and six saves from senior goalkeeper Alex Bissett, the Eagles were unable to overcome Eastern Oregon's attacking pressure. The Mountaineers struck first in the 20th minute when Rene Prieto converted a pass from JJ Gallardo, giving EOU a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Embry-Riddle showed flashes of offensive promise, registering five total shots—three of which came from Lucas Thompson, who led the team in attempts. Zach Campbell and Emanuele Bossi also contributed shots, but none found the target as EOU's defense held firm.
Eastern Oregon extended their lead in the second half with goals from Angel Sandoval (67') and Marcos Bravo (80'), sealing the result. The Eagles earned two corner kicks and committed 15 fouls in a physical contest that saw a total of ten yellow cards issued between both teams.
ERAU will return to Prescott and play against Nelson at Varsity Field on Wednesday with kickoff scheduled for 7:30pm.
