ERAU Ties USAO in Denver

Embry-Riddle continued its unbeaten start to the season with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against the University of Science and Arts (USAO) on Saturday afternoon at Centennial Stadium.

The Eagles (2-0-2) controlled much of the match, outshooting the Drovers 17-8 and earning six corner kicks to USAO's four. Despite the offensive pressure, Embry-Riddle couldn't find the back of the net, but the team's defensive effort remained solid throughout the full 90 minutes.

Senior goalkeeper Aubrianne Dupre was a standout in goal, recording four saves and earning her second shutout of the season. On the attacking end, Jamie Brandon led the team with five shots, two of which were on target, while Samantha Wright and Natalia Sepulveda each added two shots and combined for three shots on goal.

Embry-Riddle's best chances came in the first half, with multiple corner kicks and a header from Sepulveda that forced a diving save from USAO's keeper Ashlyn Lonberg, who finished with six saves. The Eagles continued to press in the second half, with Ella Shemesh and Jamie Brandon testing Lonberg late in the match, but the Drovers' defense held firm.

The Eagles' back line kept USAO's attack at bay, limiting them to just four shots on goal and only eight total attempts.

Embry-Riddle has a quick turn around as the Eagles play on Wednesday night at 7pm on Varsity Field against Justice College.
