Embry-Riddle won the first game at the NAIASB Invite 5-0 behind a one hit shutout from pitcher
Claire Streeter over Oklahoma Panhandle State before losing 8-1 in game two against Mid-America Christian University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Game1
Streeter was untouchable from the opening pitch, throwing 7.0 innings, allowing just one hit, no runs, and striking out eight while walking four. She faced only 25 batters and needed 114 pitches to secure her second win of the year.
Her defense backed her throughout, and she worked out of the few jams OPSU attempted to create—including erasing a third-inning threat with help from her catcher cutting down a runner at the plate.
Jamieson and Myhre Fuel the Offense
While Streeter kept OPSU off the board, the Embry-Riddle offense steadily applied pressure and broke through in the middle innings.
- Katie Jamieson led the attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.
- Kealey Myhre delivered a 2-for-4, 2-RBI performance, including a run-scoring single in both the fourth and fifth innings.
- Anise Romo added a double and scored twice.
In total, the Eagles finished with eight hits, matching their season high.
Eagles Break Through in the Fourth
After three scoreless innings, the Eagles cracked the scoreboard in the fourth. A Jamieson double set the table, and pinch-runner Tori Tlilayatzi came around to score on Myhre's RBI single to right-center. Arianna Garcia followed with a single to keep the pressure on, but Embry-Riddle settled for the one-run advantage.
Four-Run Fifth Blows the Game Open
Embry-Riddle's biggest frame came in the top of the fifth:
- Romo doubled down the left-field line.
- Presley Geissinger walked to put two on.
- Ryan Da Costa laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.
- Leah Salas drove in Romo and Geissinger on a grounder to short, aided by a throwing error that allowed both runs to score.
- After a walk to Jade Bayless, Jamieson ripped her second double of the day to right, plating another run.
- Myhre capped the rally with a single through the left side, bringing Jamieson home to make it 5–0 Eagles.
That four-run outburst gave Streeter more than enough support to cruise the rest of the way.
Lockdown Defense Closes It Out
The Eagles flashed crisp defense in the late innings, including snagging several flyouts and handling OPSU's lone baserunners without allowing any momentum.
Streeter closed the seventh with her eighth strikeout, sealing the complete-game shutout and punctuating one of Embry-Riddle's most complete performances of the season.
Game 2
Mid-America Christian manufactured its first-inning runs with an RBI single from Herman, a bang-bang infield hit by Rodriguez that turned into another run on the throw, and a passed ball that pushed a runner to third. Pitcher Presley Daniel minimized the damage with a strikeout to keep it 2–0.
Embry-Riddle threatened in the second on back-to-back singles by Arianna Garcia and Jill Bock, but a groundout ended the rally. After the Eagles turned their second double play to wipe away a leadoff single in the third, they finally broke through in the fourth: Garcia reached on a throwing error, advanced to third on Bock's grounder, and scored when Myhre's grounder was misplayed—unearned run to make it 2–1.
Ava Greene took over in the fifth and induced a 3B-to-1B double play to escape further trouble after an unearned run made it 3–1. She tossed a scoreless sixth as well. MACU then loaded the bases in the seventh and pushed across five—two on a wild pitch and throwing error sequence, and three more via two walks and a pair of RBI knocks—for the final 8–1 margin.
Embry-Riddle will finish their Oklahoma trip on Saturday with two more games, the first at 1:45pm AZ time against Oklahoma Science and Arts.
