Game Recap: Softball |

Eagles Shutout Golden Eagles

Embry-Riddle wasted no time on Friday afternoon, winning 16-0 in the first game of the doubleheader and 4-0 in the second as the Eagles took down La Sierra in Prescott.

Game 1

ERAU erupted for eight first-inning runs and never looking back in a 16–0 run-rule victory over La Sierra at Eagle Softball Field. The Eagles improved to 11–7 behind a complete team performance that paired relentless offense with another shutdown outing from ace Claire Streeter.

Streeter was untouchable in the circle, tossing a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and facing just 19 batters in the five-inning win.

ERAU's offense came out blazing. Annalie Castanon walked, Ryan Da Costa singled, and both executed a double steal—Castanon swiping home for the game's first run.

From there, the floodgates opened.

  • Kealey Myhre smashed a two-run double to left.

  • Jade Bayless singled home another run.

  • Arianna Garcia added an RBI double.

  • Anise Romo and Garcia combined for two more runs on back-to-back defensive errors.

  • Da Costa capped the inning with an RBI single, making it 8–0.

ERAU piled on again in the second. After a leadoff walk, Bayless launched a two-run homer to left, her first of two long balls on the day.

Garcia doubled again, stole home, and Danica Quinn added an RBI groundout to push the lead to 12–0.

The Eagles weren't done. Myhre opened the third with a solo homer, and two batters later Bayless crushed her second home run, a two-run shot to left that stretched the lead to 15–0.

ERAU added its final run in the fourth when Jill Bock drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Joy Sanchez.

Game 2
Behind a masterful complete-game shutout from Ava Greene and timely offense throughout the lineup, Embry-Riddle capped Friday's doubleheader with a 4–0 win over La Sierra at Eagle Softball Field.

Greene was exceptional from the first pitch, scattering just three hits over 7.0 innings while striking out two and walking only two. She retired 15 batters on flyouts and allowed just one runner to reach third base.

ERAU wasted no time generating offense in the first inning. Ryan Da Costa doubled to left, Leah Salas walked, and Kealey Myhre drew another walk to load the bases.

Moments later, Katie Jamieson delivered a two-run single to center, scoring Da Costa and Salas. Myhre then executed a delayed steal of home to make it 3–0.

ERAU added its final run in the fourth. Anise Romo singled, stole second, and advanced to third on a flyout. Danica Quinn then ripped an RBI double to left, extending the lead to 4–0.

Embry-Riddle will play La Sierra on Sunday at Eagle Softball Field for the final two games of the series.
