Eagles Split Doubleheader with La Sierra, Rallying Late in Game Two for a Walk-Off Win

Embry-Riddle delivered a gritty day of work at home on Thursday, battling through a high-scoring opener before storming back in dramatic fashion to take Game Two and earn a doubleheader split with visiting La Sierra.

GAME ONE — La Sierra 8, Embry-Riddle 6

Embry-Riddle came out swinging in the opener, plating two runs in the first and adding single tallies in the second, third, and seventh. The Eagles racked up 14 hits, highlighted by multi-hit efforts from Miles Murphy (3-for-4, 4 R), Connor Rosinski (2-for-5), Carter Graham (2-for-4, 2 RBI), and Logan Hudson (2-for-4).

Murphy set the tone early, ripping a run-scoring triple in the first and later adding two more hits plus a stolen base. Rosinski doubled in the first and later singled in the seventh, while Graham drove in two—including a sacrifice fly that briefly put ERAU ahead 5–3 in the seventh.

But La Sierra capitalized on a chaotic fourth inning, scoring three unearned runs after a defensive miscue, then erupted for four runs in the ninth, including a two-run homer from Christian Navarro, to steal the opener 8–6.

Despite the loss, the Eagles' offense showed depth and pressure throughout, swiping two bases and putting runners on in eight of nine innings.

GAME TWO — Embry-Riddle 5, La Sierra 4

The Eagles flipped the script in the nightcap, riding a complete-game performance from Carson Stoller and a furious two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to secure a 5–4 walk-off victory.

Stoller was outstanding, scattering eight hits over seven innings while striking out four and allowing just three earned runs. He kept the Eagles within striking distance all afternoon, retiring 14 batters on flyouts and pounding the zone with 87 pitches.

ERAU's offense answered early with a two-run second inning, fueled by a James Warren single and a Connor Rosinski RBI double, followed by a run-scoring single from Logan Hudson. After La Sierra chipped away to take a 4–3 lead into the final frame, the Eagles mounted their best rally of the day.

The Walk-Off

Down 4–3 in the seventh:

  • Owen Montgomery reached on a strikeout-plus-error.

  • Carter Graham, pinch-hitting, lined a single to put two aboard.

  • Kaden Menard, who had already tripled earlier, punched a single to load the bases.

  • Jake Lokos delivered the game-tying RBI single.

  • Moments later, Miles Murphy shot a single into center, scoring Ty Cramer from third and sealing the 5–4 walk-off win.

Menard finished the game 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs, and a walk, while Murphy added the game-winning RBI and reached base twice.

Embry-Riddle will play the final two games of the season on Friday against La Sierra with first pitch scheduled for 12pm at Eagle Baseball Field.
