Eagles Split High-Scoring Doubleheader at Park-Gilbert

MESA, Ariz. — Embry-Riddle softball put together one of its most explosive offensive performances of the season in Saturday's doubleheader at Park-Gilbert, rallying for a 10–8 win in Game 1 before falling 12–5 in the afternoon finale. The Eagles combined for 21 hits, six home runs, and multiple momentum-swinging innings across the two contests.

GAME 1 — Embry-Riddle 10, Park-Gilbert 8

Eagles erase early deficit with four-homer surge

Park-Gilbert jumped ahead 4–0 in the first inning, but the Eagles responded with a thunderous mid-game surge, scoring 10 runs over the 4th–6th innings to take control.

The comeback started in the fourth, when Kealey Myhre launched a solo shot to left to put ERAU on the board. Two batters later, Jade Bayless followed with a no-doubt homer of her own, and Anise Romo capped the inning with a two-run blast to tie the game at 4–4.

After Park briefly regained the lead, the Eagles answered again in the fifth. Myhre delivered her second home run of the game, a two-run shot that pulled ERAU within one. Romo then doubled home two more to give the Eagles their first lead of the day at 8–7.

ERAU added two insurance runs in the sixth, including a sacrifice fly from Jill Bock, and Claire Streeter closed out the complete-game win with 14 strikeouts.

Eagle standouts (Game 1):

Claire Streeter: 7.0 IP, 14 K, complete-game victory

Park-Gilbert 12, Embry-Riddle 5

Game 2 opened with another early Park-Gilbert surge, as the Lions used a two-run homer in the first and a four-run fourth to build separation. Embry-Riddle continued to produce offensively, highlighted by Kealey Myhre's third home run of the day, a two-run shot in the third that briefly gave the Eagles a 3–2 lead.

ERAU kept pressure on throughout the middle innings. Anise Romo reached base three times, Jade Bayless doubled and scored, and Katie Jamieson drove in a run with a second-inning single. But Park-Gilbert's offense continued to answer, using a four-run fourth and a three-run sixth to pull away.

Despite the loss, the Eagles tallied 10 hits, including multi-hit efforts from Myhre (3-for-3), Romo (2-for-3), and Jamieson.

Eagle standouts (Game 2):

  • Kealey Myhre: 3-for-3, HR, 3 RBI, BB

  • Anise Romo: 2-for-3, R

  • Katie Jamieson: 1-for-3, RBI, 2 BB

  • Jade Bayless: 1-for-3, 2B, R

Embry-Riddle will finish the regular season at home on Thursday and Friday as the Firestorm from ACU comes to Prescott with the games scheduled for 3pm and 5pm each day.
