PRESCOTT, Ariz. — The Embry-Riddle women's soccer team remained unbeaten Saturday evening, rolling past Benedictine Mesa, 10-1, at home.
The Eagles (4-0-1, 2-0-0 GSAC) wasted little time taking control. Kaitlyn Roskopf opened the scoring in the fifth minute before Leah Barone added back-to-back goals to give ERAU a 3-0 advantage just 15 minutes into the match.
Jamie Brandon extended the lead in the 21st minute, taking a pass from Roskopf for her first goal of the afternoon. Sophia Sink and Brandon added goals less than a minute apart later in the half, sending the Eagles into halftime with a 6-1 lead. Benedictine's lone goal came on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute.
Brandon completed her hat trick in the 56th minute, while Barone recorded her third goal of the match in the 71st minute. Harmony Rodriguez and Isabella Jost capped the scoring for the Eagles, with Jost finding the net in the 82nd minute off an assist from Lauren Matsubara.
Embry-Riddle dominated statistically, outshooting Benedictine 50-2 and holding a 28-1 advantage in shots on goal. The Eagles also earned nine corner kicks compared to one for the Redhawks.
Aubrianne Dupre' played all 90 minutes in goal for ERAU, while the Eagles' defense limited Benedictine to just two total shots.
ERAU will continue GSAC play on Tuesday as the Eagles host La Sierra at 5pm.
