GLENDALE, Ariz. — Kevin Yamna scored in the 25th minute and Embry-Riddle held on for a 1-0 victory over Arizona Christian on Saturday at ACU Soccer Field.
Yamna's game-winning goal came at 24:23, when he finished a pass from Sean Maguire to give the Eagles the lead. Embry-Riddle carried the advantage into halftime and maintained its defensive pressure throughout the second half.
Goalkeeper Sam Macdonald anchored the Eagles' defensive effort, making seven saves to preserve the shutout. Embry-Riddle recorded 17 shots, including five on goal, while limiting Arizona Christian to seven shots on target.
Yamna led the Eagles with five shots, while Maguire added three attempts and an assist. Cesar Battistini also recorded three shots.
Embry-Riddle will play again on Thursday as ERAU travels to Southern California for a game against Hope International.
