Kenton Schroter

Kenton Schroter is in his second season as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada native was brought to Prescott in February 2022.

Schroter spent five years as collegiate baseball athlete, starting at Cochise College in Douglas, Ariz. where Schroter helped the Apaches place third in the 2013 NJCAA World Series. After a year of UCL reconstruction rehab, Schroter played for NCAA Division II Angelo State, where he helped the Rams appear at the 2016 National Championship and a 2017 Super Regional. Schroter earned his Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from Angelo State in 2018.

Schroter continued his passion for baseball by taking a graduate assistant coaching position for Angelo State in fall of 2018. He assumed the pitching coach role as a graduate assistant for the Rams and guided them to a 46-12, 22-2 Lone Star Conference records and a Super Regional in 2019. In 2020 the Rams started with a 19-3 record before the season was stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schroter completed his master’s in business administration. Under the direction of Schroter, Rams pitching posted a 1.43 WHIP, 4.73 ERA, 640 strikeouts, and a combined record of 65-15. Schroter completed his Master's degree in Business Administration in 2020.

Schroter went on to Cochise College for the 2021 season where he jumped into a pitching coach role for the Apaches. The all-Freshman pitching staff recorded 460 strikeouts in 379 innings pitched. The Apaches finished with a record of 28-24, making an appearance in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference (ACCAC) Division I tournament.

At Angelo State, Schroter was a part of the crew who earned LSC Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2019, the program record for wins in a single season (46), and coached Trent Baker, who was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth round of the 2021 MLB Draft.

Schroter and his wife Terri Leigh reside in Prescott.
