Mark Middleton is a proud Arizona Native with 35 years of coaching experience. He is a three-year varsity letterman and a graduate of Prescott High School where he was All-State as Third Baseman. Due to an injury, his coaching career started right after high school as a coach with Yavapai College and soon took a job with Moon Valley HS (Phoenix) in 1990. In 1991, he joined the coaching staff at Scottsdale Horizon High School under the direction of Eric Kibler. While at Horizon, he had started coordinating satellite schools for the Doyle Baseball Academy traveling throughout the western US as an infield/hitting instructor.
In 1995, Middleton joined the coaching staff for Oakland City University in Evansville, Indiana where he coordinated practice, set line-ups and was the third-base coach.
From 1996 to 2005 Middleton and his father, Ken, had established the very successful Prescott Invitational Baseball Tournament, an all-wooden bat tournament which took place over Father’s Day weekend in Prescott. In 2002, Middleton took over as Tournament Director. Both Ken and Mark decided to retire it on its 15th Anniversary in 2005.
Middleton was a private hitting instructor for the Metro Phoenix and outlying areas of Arizona. He was also an instructor for the Arizona Diamondbacks Youth Camp in Phoenix in 2003 & 2004.
In 2013, Mark moved his family and business back to the Prescott area. He would become the Hitting Instructor at Chino Valley High School and was quickly promoted to Head Coach where he won three region championships. Coach Middleton was named 3A West Coach of the Year in 2017 & 2018.
