Todd Poitras will begin his 18th season as the Head Coach of the Eagles Women's Soccer program in 2025. The longest tenured coach in the program's history, Poitras has seen his team transform into a regionally and nationally recognized competitor in the NAIA, where he holds a career record of 199-84-34.  He was named the 2025 GSAC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year in 2025, an honor that was bestowed on him 4 times in the CalPac as well.  Additionally, Coach Poitras & Coach Theriault together were named the United Soccer Coaches NAIA West Region Staff of the Year for the 5th time in 7 seasons. 

The 2024 season saw Poitras and his team once again finished the season in the national rankings at No. 18, with a final mark of 15-3-3.  Competing in their inaugural season in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference, Embry-Riddle claimed both the Regular Season and Conference Tournament Championships, in route to their 7th consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearance, and 9th trip to the tournament overall.  Prior to joining the GSAC in 2024, ERAU had substantial success during their time as members of the California Pacific Conference. From 2012 to 2023, the Eagles collected 8 of 10 CalPac Regular Season Championships, as well as 5 Conference Tournament Championships.

In his 17 seasons, Poitras has seen his players named All-Conference 101 times, with 47 earning USC West All-Region, and 22 honored as NAIA All-Americans.  He has coached 6 Conference Players of the Year and 6 Conference Freshman of the Year honorees.  ERAU has more than excelled in the classroom as well under Poitras' leadership. During his tenure, more than 125 Eagles have been named Daktronics Scholar-Athletes, with over 50 players receiving that honor multiple times. The Eagles have had 9 players named USC Academic All-Americans, and 12 named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans.  The team finished their 2024 season with a cumulative GPA of 3.55, receiving both their 17th consecutive NAIA Scholar Team and USC Team Academic Awards.

Before taking the reins of the women's program, Poitras served as the Assistant Coach for the Eagle men’s team for three seasons. Prior to coming to Embry-Riddle, Poitras spent a season as the Goalkeeper’s Coach for the NJCAA powerhouse, and seven-time National Champion Yavapai College Roughriders in Prescott.

Poitras holds a USSF License, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, and formerly held a USSF National Grade 3 Referee Badge.

Poitras graduated from Judson University in Elgin, Illinois, and is a proud alumnus of their prestigious soccer program. While a member of the Judson team, they amassed an astonishing 86 wins during the four-year period. This run included NCCAA National Championships in 1992 & 1995, 1993 NCCAA National Runners Up, four Consecutive NIIC Conference Championships, four Consecutive NCCAA District Championships, and four Consecutive NAIA Region Finalist Appearances.

Poitras has a B.A. in Biology from Judson University, an A.A. in Mortuary Science from Worsham College. He resides in Prescott Valley with his wife Paula, and they have 3 adult daughters Grace, Ava, and Ella.
