A successful Fall season for the Embry-Riddle athletics department was recognized on Thursday morning, as the Eagles appeared eighth with 205.50 in the latest release of the Learfield Directors' Cup rankings. Schools earn points based on its finish in each of the Fall sports, and four programs scored points for ERAU.
Women's soccer's trip to the NAIA National Championship Final Site saw them pick up 68.5 points for Embry-Riddle. The women's soccer program battled through the Prescott Bracket, and nearly advanced to the quarterfinals in Orange Beach, Ala.
Women's cross country had an excellent showing, finishing 11th at the NAIA National Championships, earning ERAU 66 points. The women's program put together a phenomenal season, and had three runners place inside the top 75 at the national championship race.
Men's cross country and men's soccer each earned 25 points for the respective showings on the national stage. The men's cross country team placed 28th after a good season, and men's soccer ended its season in the Miami Gardens Bracket of the NAIA National Tournament.
Embry-Riddle is the only Cal Pac school to score points in more than one sport, and to score more than 25 points total. The Eagles are less than 20 points from jumping into the top five of the standings. Indiana Wesleyan leads the rankings with 334.50 points.
