Gonzalez Scores 27 Off the Bench, Eagles Return Home with Victory

SALEM, ORE. – The short losing streak for ERAU women's basketball was broken on Saturday, as they defeated Corban 82-73 on Saturday night. The Eagles leave Oregon with a split at the Corban Classic, and its first win outside the state of Arizona in two tries.

Aryana Gonzalez put together a masterful scoring performance, posting 27 points on 9-17 shooting. Gonzalez scored all her points in 21 minutes off the bench, and also had seven steals on the evening.

Ella Schott gave 17 points as a starter, playing all but seven minutes on Saturday. Schott also grabbed six rebounds and notched a steal as well.

The Eagles crashed the offensive glass hard, getting 18 on the offensive end compared to Corban's 14. Four players had at least two offensive rebounds, and eight different players had at least one on the offensive end.

ERAU had a great day at the free throw line, converting 22-27 on the afternoon. Gonzalez had the most attempts for Embry-Riddle at eight, and converted every one during her outstanding offensive afternoon.

The Eagles will have the week to prepare for the Buccaneer Classic, which starts on Black Friday. ERAU will match up with Lincoln University in Phoenix, with tipoff scheduled for 10 a.m.
