The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team enters the pivotal part of its season at 15th, as they dropped two spots in the most recent NAIA Coaches' Poll. The Eagles are the only Cal Pac team to appear, and received 324 points in the latest rankings.
The Eagles as a team have finished top eight in every event they have participated in this season. This includes winning its home invitational on September 10, and coming in eighth at the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Challenge.
Embry-Riddle will get back on the course next Saturday, October 15th at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational. It will be the final event for the Eagles prior to the Cal Pac and NAIA National Championships.
Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences or groups.
• Each conference is represented by one rater.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
