ALISO VIEJO, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle women's distance track team took control of the inaugural Cal Pac Distance Track Championships early, pulling away to win the first conference championship. An Eagle runner won every event ERAU participated in, and the team scored 160 points en route to the championship.
Makenna Bray had a great meet, winning in both individual events she participated in, plus was a part of the relay medley the Eagles were victorious in. Josephine Banks, Kamryn Hoehne and Josephine Gregory were also a part of the relay winning team on Friday, finishing more than a minute ahead of second place.
Bones Parker took home the championship in the 5000 meter race, as Banks and Lizzie Simon all finished in under 21 minutes. Parker and Banks finished in under 20 minutes, and just under six seconds apart from each other.
Ariana Anderson had another steeplechase time under 11 minutes, finishing at 10:53.17 on Thursday night. Anderson also took home the championship in the 10000 meter run, posting the only time under 40 minutes at 36:54.37.
The Eagles will now head to nationals, with a handful of athletes heading to compete for the ultimate prize. The first day of the NAIA Outdoor Track Nationals is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25th.
