Embry-Riddle raced at the Mangrum Invitational on Friday hosted by Cal State San Marcos and during the event,
Sophia Noriega won the 5000m race and qualified for the NAIA Outdoor National Track Meet.
800m
Taryn Janssen and
Kylie Monson ran in the 800m race. Janssen finished with a time of 2:22.38 followed by Monson with a 2;25.80.
1500m
Noriega finished in second, just barely missing out on qualifying for nationals in a second event. She finished with a time of 4:36.04. Finishing behind her was Janssen with a time of 4:58.43.
Carlee Murphy and Monson finished together with Murphy crossing the line in 5:01.39 and Monson in 5:01.50.
Tiffany Terry ran her race in 5:13.15 followed by
Mia Sanchez in 6:11.97.
5000m
Noriega won the event and set a new track record in the 5000m race with her time of 17:11.00. Murphy finished in 8th overall with a time of 18:13.04. Terry crossed the finish line with a time of 19:34.52 followed by Sanchez with a finishing time of 22:41.71.
10000m
In the 10000m race,
Mia Kemp finished with a time of 38:13.28.
Heidi Donovan also ran the 10000 crossing the line with a time of 39:28.05.
Embry-Riddle will race again on April 16th-17th back in California.
