SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's golf team got back on the course for the first time this Spring, competing in the OUAZ Spring Invitational. The Eagles played well, finishing I the top three of the team leaderboards, and all five of its team golfers finishing in the top 15.
Maisy Alsen finished tied for seventh, having a great second round on Monday to help her stay inside the top ten on the individual leaderboard. Alsen posted a 76 following a 78, and had six birdies through the entire tournament.
Kaetlin Halseth was just one shot behind Alsen, also having a round of 76 on her way to a ninth-place finish. Halseth posted the +4 round in the opening 18 holes, using a pair of birdies and consistent par play to post the second-best score to start Monday.
Hailey Stevenson had the best round of any ERAU golfer in the tournament, posting a 75 (+3) in the second round. That performance helped her finish tenth, and Stevenson finished the event with six birdies.
Libby Axen finished 13th, with her best round coming in the middle 18 holes. Axen shot a 78, and used three birdies during a solid second round to keep the Eagles in the team championship chase. Axen also had the only Eagle in the tournament, as she needed just three shots to complete the par-five 11th hole in the first round.
Hannah Spiller finished tied for 15th, and had the third-best par-3 average out of any ERAU golfer. Lois Sheaffer, who was playing as an individual, finished 25th.
