LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Venturing outside for the first time this season, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's distance track team took part in the Oxy Distance Carnival hosted by Occidental College.
A pair of Eagles ran in the 1,500 meters, with junior Josephine Banks (Las Vegas, Nev.) leading the way for ERAU with a 4:48.15, a little more than eight seconds off the NAIA B standard. Sophomore Kamryn Hoehne (Santa Fe, N.M.) was a little more than five seconds behind her teammate with a 5:03.89. Freshman Tiffany Terry (Calimesa, Calif.) had the team's top time in the 5,000 meters, clocking a 19:00.00. Senior Lizzie Simon (Peoria, Ariz.) was the lone Eagle in the 10K, finishing in 40:21.89.
Four Eagles took part in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, with junior Josey Gregory (Pensacola, Fla.) tuning in the top time for EARU, an 11:48.84. Freshman Savannah Ganter (Yucaipa, Calif.) was just behind with an 11:50.64.
