PRESCOTT, Ariz. – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's golf team took the lead after the first round of the ERAU Spring Invitational and never looked back as the Eagles went on to take the team title with a final score of 894 (+5). Embry-Riddle lowered its scores all three rounds as the Eagles held off Rocky Mountain College by nine strokes.
Embry-Riddle saw four of its golfers finish in the top-eight, with junior Hailey Stevenson (Las Vegas, Nev.) leading the way. She fired an impressive first round of 69 on the Antelope Hills South Course, finishing with a final total of 216 (E) that was just one shot back of the tournament medalist. Senior Hannah Spiller (Thatcher, Ariz.) was solid with her 222 (+6) that placed her fourth overall. Just two shots back of that was sophomore Libby Axen (Tucson, Ariz.), whose 224 (+8) was good for fifth. Sophomore Kaetlin Halseth (Kingwood, Texas) was the other Eagle in the top eight, tying for that eighth position with a 232 (+16) as she dropped her scores in every round. Senior Lois Sheaffer (Greely, Colo.) was the biggest mover up the leaderboard on the final day and finished with a 266 (+50) that put her in 24th overall.
