ERAU Falls in Season Opener

Embry-Riddle fell to Nelson University-Arizona 97-71 in the first game of the 2024-2025 season on Saturday evening in Phoenix. 

The game commenced with intense competition, culminating in a halftime score of 33-44, with the Eagles trailing. As the team regrouped and came back onto the court, they displayed a strong performance in the second half, narrowing the deficit significantly. Key players such as Peter Dress (Kennewick, Wash.), who scored a team-high 21 points along with 9 rebounds and a steal, showed commendable skill and determination. Noah Gifft (Surprise, Ariz.) also contributed significantly with 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Additional contributions came from players like Jacey Canalin (Portland, Ore.), who added 9 points to the Eagles' tally, and Isaiah Wong (Dublin, Calif.), who assisted twice alongside his 7 points.  

Embry-Riddle will head to Montana next week as the Eagles take on Rocky Mountain in Billings on Friday night with a 7pm tip-off.
