Eagles Earn 3rd Straight Sweep

Embry-Riddle earned a 3-0 sweep over the Park University-Gilbert Buccaneers on Friday evening in the Eagle Gym.  The set scores were 25-18, 25-19, and 26-24.

First Set: ERAU started strong, taking the first set 25-18. Kelly Hansen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) led the charge with two of her team high 11 kills on the night.  Hansen ended the match with a .500 hitting percentage, while the team collectively hit .276. Park-Gilbert struggled to find their rhythm, hitting only .054 in the set.

Second Set: The Eagles continued their momentum into the second set, winning 25-19. They improved their hitting percentage to .308, with significant contributions from Alexsandra Rodriguez (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Emma Barber (Goodyear, Ariz.), who combined for 17 kills in the match. Park-Gilbert showed some resistance but couldn't match Embry-Riddle's efficiency.

Third Set: The third set was the most competitive, with Park-Gilbert pushing Embry-Riddle to the limit. However, the Eagles managed to edge out a 26-24 victory. Despite Park-Gilbert's improved performance, hitting .333 in the set, Embry-Riddle's balanced attack and solid defense, led by Hie Loui (Honolulu, Hawaii) with 12 digs during the three sets, secured the win.

Key Players:

Embry-Riddle will continue GSAC play on Saturday afternoon with a 2pm game against Benedictine Mesa in the Eagle Gym.
