After Embry-Riddle beat Chaminade on Friday evening, the Silverswords came back on Sunday with a 70-56 win over the Eagles in Honolulu, Hawaii.
First Half Highlights:
- The Eagles started the game with a competitive spirit, trailing by just four points at the end of the first quarter (15-11). Micaela Hidalgo (Greeley, Colo.) made an early impact with a layup and a free throw.
- In the second quarter, Embry-Riddle scored 17 points, with Abby Dean (Anthem, Ariz.) contributing significantly off the bench, scoring 7 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.
Second Half Highlights:
- The third quarter saw the Eagles continue to fight, scoring 14 points. Sydney Mickulin (Nolensville, Tenn.) hit a crucial three-pointer, and Mehgan Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.) added another, keeping the team within reach.
- In the final quarter, the Eagles managed another 14 points, with Jordyn Smith (Mount Vernon, Wash.) and Kate McBride (Atlanta, Ga.) making key plays. However, Chaminade's defense proved too strong, and the Eagles couldn't close the gap.
