Eagles Drop Tight Game With Lights

In a closely contested  basketball contest at the Fortin Education Center on Saturday afternoon in Montana, the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Eagles put up a fierce battle but ultimately fell short against Montana State-Northern (MT), with a final score of 74-67.

The first half concluded with the Eagles trailing by six points, as the scoreboard showed Montana State-Northern leading with 35 points compared to Embry-Riddle's 29. This initial lag set the tone for the rest of the encounter, despite strong efforts from Eagle players. Jacey Canalin (Portland, Ore.) and Conner Ivy (Phoenix, Ariz.) were standout performers, significantly contributing to Embry-Riddle's scoreboard impact.

The second-half rally by the Eagles showcased their tenacity and ability to contest tightly in challenging situations, but the surge from Montana's players in the closing periods sealed the game for the Lights.

Demari Hackett (Surprise, Ariz.) led ERAU with 14 points and nine rebounds.

Embry-Riddle will be right back on the court Monday as the Eagles play their first home game of the season against Nobel with tip off set for 7:30pm in the Activity Center.
