ERAU Falls in Tight Game

After leading in the first half, Embry-Riddle struggled to score in the second half as the Eagles lost to Eastern Oregon 85-72 in Caldwell, Idaho on Friday afternoon.  

First Half:

Embry-Riddle started strong, leading 32-29 at halftime. Noah Gifft (Surprise, Ariz.) was a standout, scoring 11 points in the first half, including two three-pointers. Peter Dress (Kennewick, Wash.) and Isaiah Wong (Dublin, Calif.) also contributed significantly, with Dress adding 3 points and 3 rebounds, and Wong scoring 4 points with 3 assists.

Second Half:

EOU came out firing in the second half, outscoring Embry-Riddle 56-40. Trent Rogers led the charge with 21 points, going a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. TJ Doman was also instrumental, scoring 19 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. Garrett Hawkes added 13 points, including three crucial three-pointers.

  • Lead Changes: The game saw nine lead changes, with EOU taking control in the second half.
  • Points in the Paint: EOU dominated inside, scoring 50 points in the paint compared to Embry-Riddle's 16.
  • Bench Contributions: Embry-Riddle's bench outscored EOU's 29-17, with Christian Wells (Frisco, Texas) scoring 12 points off the bench.
