In Embry-Riddle's second game of the Cactus Classic, at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, the Eagles were defeated by the Rocky Mountain (MT) Bears with a final score of 92-72 on Monday afternoon.
The game began with high hopes for the Eagles, but the halftime score revealed they were trailing, with a score of 35-39 in favor of the Bears. Despite a strong push in the second half, the Eagles could not close the gap, ultimately falling 20 points short of their opponents.
Key performances were noted from several Eagles players.
Peter Dress (Kennewick, Wash.) and
Jacey Canalin (Portland, Ore.) were top scorers Dress who scored 15 points alongside 2 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 steal, and Canalin putting up 13 points and grabbing 1 rebound.
Demari Hackett (Surprise, Ariz.) added 8 points with his effort and
Jake Klingler (Gilbert, Ariz.), who contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds.
Embry-Riddle will return to the Activity Center as the Eagles host Doane University on Friday at 3pm.
