Jake Klingler (Gilbert, Ariz.) and
Noah Gifft (Surprise, Ariz.) led Embry-Riddle with 18 points each in the Eagles 87-63 win over Stanton University Elks in the Activity Center on Monday evening. Â
First Half:
The game started with a competitive first half, with Embry-Riddle leading 36-29 at halftime. Stanton's Djordje Mitrovic was a standout, scoring 15 of his game-high 23 points in the first half. However, Embry-Riddle's balanced attack, led by Gifft and Klingler, who combined for 25 points in the first half, kept them ahead.
Second Half:
Embry-Riddle pulled away in the second half, outscoring Stanton 51-34. The Eagles' offense was firing on all cylinders, with six players scoring in double figures. Gifft recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Klingler added 18 points, hitting six three-pointers. Peter Dress (Kennewick, Wash.) contributed 12 points and 5 rebounds, and Christian Wells (Frisco, Texas) came off the bench to score 11 points and Demari Hackett (Surprise, Ariz.) added 10. Â
