FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Sophomore Dillon Eisner (Paulden, Ariz.) led the way for the Embry-Riddle men's distance track team in its first meet of the season, winning a pair of heats at the NAU Tune-Up. Eisner took first in his heats in both the mile and 800 meters on the indoor track in Flagstaff.
In his first race of the night Eisner led from start to finish in the mile, clocking a 4:37.36 to win by nearly 12 seconds. Later in the evening Eisner took part in the 800 meters, taking his heat in 2:07.11 to win by over nine seconds.
Also running for the Eagles in the mile in a different section were freshman Ben Smith (Spokane, Wash.) and junior Austin Lemus (Chino, Calif.), who turned in a 4:44.97 and 4:47.23 respectively.
Senior Demetris Love, Jr. (Phoenix, Ariz.) led a contingent of six Eagles in the 3,000-meter event. He took fifth in 9:08.79, with sophomore Jacob Ortiz (Chandler, Ariz.) also placing in the top-10 with a time of 9:16.51 that was good for seventh.
