Embry-Riddle ran in their first meet of the 2026 distance track season at the NAU Tune Up on Friday evening hosted in the NAU Skydome.
800m Run
Dillon Eisner was the top finisher for the Eagles in in 800m run, finishing with a time of 2:03.59. Just behind him was
Carlos Soto. Soto ran the race in 2:07.81 which put him in 29th overall. Next for ERAU was
Joseph Fox finishing in 2:07.95, right behind Soto.
Zander Wood and
Josh Durban rounded out the Eagles in the 800. Wood finished with a time of 2:11.41 and Durban in 2:17.02.
Mile Run
14 Eagles ran the mile in Flagstaff, all finishing in under five minutes. Eisner was the top finisher for Embry-Riddle in the mile as well. He ran his mile in 4:28.40.
Nathan Nations was next for ERAU finishing in 4:34.9.
Ben Smith came across the finish line in 4:35.34 and in 13th place overall. Fox finished in 4:42.22 followed by
Jacob Ortiz in 4:45.35. Finishing in 4:48.82 was Durban and just behind him was
Maxwell Kilstrom who finished in 4:48.99.
Carlos Soto and
Benjamin Kovach came across the line next in 4:49.93 and 4:50.07.
Zander Wood crossed the finish line with a time of 4:53.97.
Luca Calero and
Nicolas Urquidez finished just .3 seconds apart in 4:54.27 and 4:64.65.
Trevor Head and
Dave Richards were the last two ERAU runners, finishing in 4:55.94 and 4:56.03.
3000m Run
Smith led the Eagles in the 3000m race with a 6th place finish in a time of 9:10.28. He was followed by Ortiz in 9:30.60. Shepherd finished in 9:38.36 and in 12th overall. Following Shepherd was Nations with a time of 9:47.79. Next for ERAU was Urquidez with a time of 9:50.42. Kilstrom and Kovach were the next two finishers for Embry-Riddle with times of 9:52.52 and 9:54.65. Head crossed the line with a time of 10:02.61. Calero finished in 10:07.94 and he was followed by Richards who crossed the line in 10:10.77.
Embry-Riddle will race again on March 14th in Eagle Rock, California at the Oxy Distance Carnival.
