Eagles Drop First GSAC Match to OUAZ

In a thrilling volleyball match at Faith Arena, OUAZ emerged victorious over Embry-Riddle  with a 3-2 win. The match was a roller coaster of emotions, with both teams showcasing their skills and determination.

Set 1: Embry-Riddle 25 - OUAZ 22

  • Early Lead: Embry-Riddle took an early lead, capitalizing on strong serves and effective attacks.
  • Mid-Set Rally: OUAZ fought back with a mid-set rally, narrowing the gap with key kills from Keira Adrian.
  • Closing Points: Embry-Riddle maintained composure and secured the set with crucial points from Kelly Hansen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) and Alexsandra Rodriguez (Phoenix, Ariz.).

Set 2: Embry-Riddle 25 - OUAZ 22

  • Consistent Performance: Embry-Riddle continued their momentum from the first set, with solid defense and consistent attacks.
  • OUAZ Response: OUAZ responded with improved blocking and attacks, particularly from Jenna Sarff and Logan Kuehn.
  • Final Push: Embry-Riddle edged out OUAZ in the final points, with significant contributions from Dalia Haase (Tucson, Ariz.) and Emma Barber (Goodyear, Ariz.).

Set 3: OUAZ 25 - Embry-Riddle 22

Haase led ERAU with 15 kills and 9 block assists as she hit .313 on the evening.  Katie Rolle (Missoula, Mont.) finished the match with 41 assists.  Lily Figgins (St. Charles, Mo.) led the defensive effort from the Eagles with 35 digs.  

Embry-Riddle will play their first home game on Wednesday, September 18th at 6pm in the Eagle Gym as the Mustangs from The Master's University visit Prescott.
