Eagles Sweep Warriors

The Embry-Riddle Eagles soared to a decisive victory over the visiting Life Pacific Warriors in a thrilling volleyball match held on September 21, 2024, in Prescott, AZ. The Eagles clinched the match in straight sets, winning 25-21, 27-25, and 25-22.

Set 1: Eagles Take Early Lead

The Eagles started strong, taking the first set 25-21. Key contributions came from Emma Barber (Goodyear, Ariz.), who led the team with 10 kills and a .185 hitting percentage. Hannah Clear (Fort Worth, Texas) also made her presence felt with 8 kills and a .278 hitting percentage. The Eagles' efficient attack, marked by a .333 hitting percentage in the first set, set the tone for the match.

Set 2: A Nail-Biting Finish

The second set was a nail-biter, with both teams battling fiercely. The set saw 14 tie scores and 5 lead changes, but the Eagles managed to edge out the Warriors 27-25. Despite the close score, the Eagles' resilience shone through, with Dalia Haase contributing 7 kills and a .467 hitting percentage. The Warriors' efforts were led by Bailey Collette, who had 10 kills and a .222 hitting percentage, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Eagles' determined play.

Set 3: Eagles Seal the Deal

In the third set, the Eagles maintained their momentum, winning 25-22. The set featured standout performances from Alexsandra Rodriguez (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Kelly Hansen (El Dorado Hills, Calif.), who each added 8 kills to the Eagles' tally. The Eagles' defense was also solid, with Barber and Clear each contributing 3 blocks. The Warriors fought hard, with Kate Smith and Diana Castro adding 5 and 4 kills respectively, but the Eagles' balanced attack and strong defense proved too much to handle.

Setter Katie Rolle (Missoula, Mont.) was instrumental in orchestrating the Eagles' attack, dishing out 34 assists and contributing 7 points.
