Embry-Riddle earned a 6-0 GSAC win on Wednesday night over the visiting OUAZ Spirit at Varsity Field.
The Eagles struck early, with Ella Carnahan (Deer Park, Wash.) netting the first goal just 15 minutes into the game, assisted by Jamie Black (Tucson, Ariz.). This set the tone for the half, as the Eagles continued to apply pressure. Just under a minute later, Jamie Brandon (Phoenix, Ariz.) doubled the lead, scoring with an assist from Rae Yoshioka (Pearl City, Hawaii).
As the first half progressed, the Eagles maintained their momentum, with Yoshioka scoring the third goal in the 43rd minute, again assisted by Black. The Spirit struggled to find their rhythm, managing only one shot on goal compared to the Eagles' 12.
The second half saw the Eagles continue their offensive onslaught. Brandon added her second goal of the night in the 57th minute. Aubrie Labno (Anthem, Ariz.) found the back of the net in the 68th minute, assisted by Ellie Neal (Gilbert, Ariz.), pushing the score to 5-0. The Eagles weren't done yet; Sophia Bohon (Surprise, Ariz.) added a goal in the 74th minute, with an assist from Hannah Draper (Tucson, Ariz.).
Despite several substitutions and attempts to regroup, the Spirit could not break through the Eagles' defense, which was anchored by goalkeeper Annabelle Ruckle (Phoenix, Ariz.), who recorded a clean sheet with one save. The Eagles finished the match with a total of 24 shots.
Embry-Riddle will host Arizona Christian on Saturday night with kickoff scheduled for 5pm at Varsity Field.
