In a closely contested match at Alumni Field, the #12 John Brown University (JBU) Golden Eagles and the #13 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) Eagles battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.

ERAU took an early lead with a goal by Jamie Black (Tucson, Ariz.) at the 1:06 mark, assisted by Aubrie Labno (Anthem, Ariz.).  JBU had several attempts to equalize, with shots from Julia Lambert and Lauren Walter, but they were either high or saved by the Eagles goalkeeper, Annabelle Ruckle (Phoenix, Ariz.).  Embry-Riddle's defense held strong, and they went into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles came out strong in the second half, with Katherine Keys scoring a header goal at 52:19, assisted by Caitlin Hilson. Both teams had multiple opportunities to take the lead, but goalkeepers Ruckle (ERAU) and Sunnie Woodard (JBU) made crucial saves to keep the score level.

Despite the intense efforts from both sides, the match ended in a 1-1 draw, reflecting the evenly matched nature of the two teams.

Embry-Riddle will be off next week but then head to California to begin GSAC play on September 19th at The Master's University.
