In a high-energy GSAC basketball game at the ACU Events Center in Glendale, AZ, on Saturday afternoon, Embry-Riddle were narrowly defeated by #19 Arizona Christian with a final score of 74-65. Despite a spirited comeback in the second half, the Eagles could not close the gap set by the halftime score of 40-26 in favor of the Firestorm.
The Eagles saw commendable performances from several players.
Jordyn Smith led the scoring for Embry-Riddle with 15 points, followed by
Zakiirah King, who not only added 13 points but also completed a double-double with 10 rebounds. Other notable performances included
Micaela Hidalgo and
Hannah Urbano, who each contributed 9 points. Moreover,
Mehgan Strickler was impactful with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals, underscoring her defensive prowess during the game.
Embry-Riddle will play in Mesa on Thursday at Park-Gilbert with tip-off scheduled for 5:30pm.
