Embry-Riddle controlled possession for almost the entire game and earned a convincing 4-1 victory over Life Pacific on Saturday evening.
ERAU wasted no time asserting control, scoring twice in the opening 16 minutes. Jamie Brandon opened the scoring in the 6th minute, finishing a well-placed pass from Samantha Wright. Just ten minutes later, Tessa Updegraff doubled the lead with a composed strike off an assist from Jamie Black.
Life Pacific managed to pull one back in the 60th minute through Lucy Bower, but the Eagles responded with two late goals to seal the win. Kari Kasun came off the bench to deliver a brace, scoring in the 87th and 89th minutes, with Wright assisting on the first.
The Eagles outshot the Warriors 22-3, including 12 shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Aubrianne Dupre had a quiet afternoon, facing only two shots on goal and making one save. The Embry-Riddle defense was solid, allowing just three total shots and conceding only one corner kick in the second half.
Embry-Riddle will host OUAZ on Thursday evening at Varsity Field with kick-off scheduled for 5pm.
