ERAU Draws with BenU

In a thrilling back-and-forth contest at ASU Polytech, the Embry-Riddle played to a 3–3 draw against Benedictine Mesa (AZ) on Thursday evening.

Embry-Riddle (6-4-4, 5-2-3 Cal Pac) came out strong, striking first in the 5th minute when Rojvan Karaer found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Nitai Bental. Though Benedictine Mesa quickly equalized, the Eagles regained the lead in the 22nd minute thanks to a solo effort from Lucas Thompson, sending Embry-Riddle into halftime with a 2–1 advantage.

The second half saw Embry-Riddle extend their lead to 3–1 in the 54th minute as Bental converted a chance created by Sean Maguire, marking his team-leading seventh shot of the night and fifth on goal. However, Benedictine Mesa responded with two goals in quick succession, leveling the match by the 64th minute.

Despite several late chances, including a penalty save by Alex Bissett and a shot off the crossbar by the Redhawks, neither side could break the deadlock. Bissett finished with four saves, while Benedictine's keeper Moritz Ae was tested repeatedly, making ten saves on 20 Embry-Riddle shots.

Bental led the Eagles with a goal and an assist, while Karaer and Thompson each added a goal. Embry-Riddle dominated in corner kicks (8–2) and shots on goal (13–7), but the Redhawks' late momentum proved enough to secure the draw.

ERAU will host Park Gilbert at 7:30pm on Saturday evening in their final home match of the season.
