Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Eagles GSAC Regular Season Champions

Embry-Riddle was crowned the Great Southwest Athletic Conference regular season champions with their 1-0 win on Saturday night over Park University.

The game's lone goal came in the 70th minute when Samantha Wright found the back of the net off a well-placed assist from Kaitlyn Roskopf, breaking the deadlock and igniting the home crowd. Wright's finish capped off a dominant offensive performance by the Eagles, who outshot the Buccaneers 21-2 and earned seven corner kicks to Park-Gilbert's none.

Embry-Riddle's defense remained impenetrable throughout the match, with goalkeeper Aubrianne Dupre recording a clean sheet without needing to make a save. The backline, anchored by Lauren Otto, Ella Shemesh, Ella Carnahan and Natalia Sepulveda, stifled Park-Gilbert's attack, allowing only two shots, neither of which were on target.

Despite the scoreline, Park-Gilbert's goalkeeper Journey Morimoto delivered a standout performance, tallying 10 saves and keeping her team within striking distance until the final whistle.

The Eagles controlled possession and tempo from the outset, registering 11 shots in the first half and another 10 in the second. Jamie Brandon led the team with seven shots, three of which were on goal, while Wright and Tessa Updegraff added three shots apiece.

ERAU will head to Park-Gilbert on Tuesday to make up a postponed game from earlier in the season.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5pm at Arizona Athletic Grounds.
