Embry-Riddle earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw on the road against Park-Gilbert (AZ) Tuesday evening at AZ Athletic Grounds.
Dario Ajdini found the back of the net in the first half and Nitai Bental in the second half, with midfielder Francesco Busini assisting on each goal, as the Eagles improved to 7-4-5 overall and 6-2-4 in conference play.
Park-Gilbert opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Havard Brynie converted a pass from Konstantinos Hinteregger. Embry-Riddle responded just before halftime, as Ajdini capitalized on a Busini setup to level the match at 1-1 in the 45th minute.
Brynie struck again early in the second half, putting Park-Gilbert ahead 2-1 in the 51st minute. But the Eagles showed resilience, and in the 78th minute, Bental delivered —again assisted by Busini—to secure the equalizer.
Goalkeeper Alex Bissett anchored the defense with five saves, including several key stops to keep the Eagles in the match. Embry-Riddle recorded 11 shots, four on goal, while Park-Gilbert edged them slightly with 12 shots and seven on target.
Embry-Riddle will finish the regular season on Thursday in Riverside as the Eagles head to La Sierra for a 7:30pm kickoff.
