Embry-Riddle continued its undefeated start to the season with a commanding 98–60 victory over West Coast Baptist on Thursday evening at the Activity Center.
After a tightly contested first half that saw Embry-Riddle hold a narrow 40–38 lead, the Eagles erupted in the second half, outscoring the visiting team 58–22. The offensive explosion was fueled by sharp shooting and unselfish ball movement, while the defense clamped down to hold West Coast Baptist to just 26.9% shooting in the final 20 minutes.
Balanced Attack Leads the Way
Embry-Riddle had five players score in double figures, led by Peter Dress with 16 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting, along with 7 rebounds. Isaiah Wong added 14 points and dished out 7 assists, while Jacey Canalin contributed 11 points and a game-high 8 assists. Adam Mickulin and Christian Wells combined for 17 points off the bench, helping the Eagles tally an impressive 41 bench points.
The Eagles shot 56.7% from the field and 43.8% from three-point range, connecting on 14 triples. They also dominated the glass, outrebounding West Coast Baptist 44–21 and scoring 48 points in the paint.
Second Half Statement
Embry-Riddle's second-half performance was a clinic in execution. The team shot nearly 65% from the field and 61.5% from beyond the arc. The defense forced 14 turnovers and converted them into 22 points, while limiting West Coast Baptist to 0-for-10 shooting from three-point range in the second half.
A 13–0 run early in the half broke the game open, and the Eagles never looked back, building their lead to as many as 38 points.
