Embry-Riddle won all three duals at the Mile High Duals Friday as the Eagles beat Westcliff 34-16, Hope International 47-6, and Sierra College 47-0 in the Activity Center.
ERAU vs. Westcliff: 34-16
Jaren Kimura started the match with a fall in 4:52 for ERAU. After the Eagles forfeited at 133lbs,
Adam Stanley won a high scoring match 25-16. At 149lbs,
Axel Esparza received a forfeit. ERAU dropped matches at 157lbs, 165lbs, and 174lbs before closing out the match with three straight pins.
Wyatt Rewerts won by fall in 3:27 at 184lbs,
Trenton Blomquist pinned his opponent in 2:14 at 197lbs, and at 285lbs
Kenneth Copley needed just 2:27 to win by fall.
ERAU vs. Hope International: 47-6
After a double forfeit at 125lbs, Kimura once again won by fall, this time at 133lbs for the Eagles. The Royals won the match at 141lbs but then it was all ERAU as the Eagles won the next seven matches.
Axel Esparza won by fall in 5:37 at 149lbs followed by a technical fall win at 157lbs from
Jacob Briggs.
William Prater, Thomas Stadel, and
Tauataina Tuikolongahau all won by forfeit at 165lbs, 174lbs, and 184lbs. Blomquist won by fall in just 1:58 at 197lbs and Copley finished off the match with a win by fall at 285lbs.
ERAU vs. Sierra College 47-0
Kimura finished off his 3-0 day with another win by fall to start the last dual of the day for ERAU. After a double forfeit at 133lbs, Stanley also received a forfeit at 141lbs. Esparza earned a come from behind 5-2 win at 149lbs. Briggs won by major decision at 157lbs 9-0. At 165lbs, Prater won by fall in 47 seconds. The fastest Eagle pin of the day went to
JJ Schoenlein who pinned his opponent at 174lbs in 26 seconds.
Wyatt Rewerts earned a 15-5 major decision at 184lbs and once again Blomquist and Copley finished the match off with falls at 197lbs and 285lbs.
Embry-Riddle will host the Mile High Open tomorrow with wrestling beginning at 10am.
