Embry-Riddle had five runners in the top 10 at the GSAC Championships Friday morning as ERAU took 2nd. The Eagles were led by
Ben Smith who finished 2nd individually on the 8K course at Sahuaro Ranch Park.
Smith ran the 8K course in 24:46. He was followed by
Dillon Eisner who finished in 4th with a time of 25:22. Next for ERAU was
Joseph Fox. Fox ran the race in 25:32.
Nicolas Urquidez was 9th overall with a time of 25:38.0 and just behind him was
Cam Sheperd with a time of 25:38.4.
Jacob Ortiz finished in 25:43 and rounding out the Eagles top seven was
Nathan Nations with a time of 25:47.
Benjamin Kovach finished 13th overall with a time of 25:54.
Nathan Kutscher was 20th as he finished in 26:36.
Maxwell Kilstrom, Carlos Soto, and
Trevor Head finished 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
Zander Wood crossed the finish line in 27:30.
Joshua Durban finished in 28:05 and
Dave Richards finished in 28:40 for the Eagles.
Luca Calero was 43rd overall with a time of 30:54.
Ortiz, Urquidez, Fox, Eisner, and Smith were all named to the GSAC All-Conference team.
ERAU will now wait and see if they are selected as an At-Large team to run at the NAIA National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida on November 21st.
