ERAU Advances to GSAC Final

Embry-Riddle advanced to the GSAC Championship game on Wednesday with a decisive 5-1 victory over Hope International on Saturday afternoon at home.

Embry-Riddle wasted no time asserting control, outshooting the Royals 25-11 and earning a commanding 9-3 edge in corner kicks. The Eagles struck first in the 20th minute when Jamie Black converted a pass from Molly Newlin to make it 1-0. Just five minutes later, Samantha Wright doubled the lead with an unassisted goal, and Sachie Ilae added a third in the 38th minute off a feed from Kaitlyn Roskopf.

Hope International briefly cut into the lead with a goal from Kira Christenson in the 42nd minute, but the Eagles responded after halftime. Wright tallied her second of the day in the 56th minute, and Roskopf capped the scoring in the 71st minute with a strike assisted by Jamie Brandon.

Defensively, Aubrianne Dupre anchored the back line with four saves, while the Eagles' offense kept Royals goalkeeper Victoria Ruiz busy, forcing nine saves.

Embry-Riddle's depth was on full display, with contributions from starters and reserves alike. Wright led the attack with two goals, while Black, Ilae, and Roskopf each added one. Roskopf, Newlin and Brandon chipped in assists for the Eagles.

ERAU will host The Master's University on Wednesday evening at 5pm for the GSAC Tournament Championship.
