Embry-Riddle earned two dual wins on the road as the Eagles beat Westcliff University 34-10 and Hope International 45-6 in California on Saturday afternoon.
Dual vs. Westcliff
After the Eagles forfeited the 125lb weight class and 133lb class,
Yoshiya Funakoshi got things started with a will by fall in 4:30 at 141lbs.  At 149lbs,
Axel Esparza won by tech fall 17-1. ERAU dropped the match at 157lbs by a score of 8-0 but then the Eagles closed out with five straight wins.Â
Thomas Stadel won 16-7 at 165lbs followed by a major decision from
Daniil Gorshkov at 174lbs.Â
Tauataina Tuikolonghau won a close 9-6 match at 184lbs. The last two matches were won by fall for Embry-Riddle as
Trenton Blomquist won at 197lbs in 2:28 and
Kenneth Copley won by fall in 5:21. Â
Dual vs. Hope International
Adam Stanley wrestled first as the Eagles didn't have anyone at 125lbs or 133lbs. Stanley won his match by fall at 141lbs. Once again Esparza won, this time by major decision 12-3.Â
Jacob Briggs won at 157lbs in just 51 seconds for the Eagles and
Thomas Stadel followed with a 15-0 tech fall at 165lbs. The next three Eagles, Gorshkob, Tuikolongahau, and Blomquist all received forfeits before Copley wrestled at 285lbs.  Copley needed just 1:38 this time to win by fall in his match. Â
Embry-Riddle will wrestle again on Sunday, December 21st at the Reno TOC in Reno, Nevada. Â
