In a dramatic double-overtime battle at Ashton Brosnaham Park, Embry-Riddle punched its ticket to the NAIA Women's Soccer Quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over No. 2 William Carey (MS) on Tuesday afternoon. Forward Jamie Brandon delivered the decisive strike in the 104th minute, capping a relentless offensive performance.

First-Half Fireworks

The match opened with Embry-Riddle dictating tempo, firing 14 shots in the first half. Despite early pressure—including a near miss off the post by Jamie Black in the 4th minute—the Crusaders struck first. Lauren Entremont put William Carey ahead in the 32nd minute, finishing a feed from Alessia Navarro for her 16th goal of the season.

The Eagles answered swiftly. Just three minutes later, Brandon found the equalizer, slotting home her 19th goal of the year off a well-placed corner kick assist from Samantha Wright. The teams entered halftime deadlocked at 1-1.

Defensive Duel and Missed Chances

Embry-Riddle dominated possession and chances throughout regulation, outshooting William Carey 28-8 and earning nine corner kicks to the Crusaders' two. Crusader goalkeeper Nerea Pallas Padilla was sensational, recording 13 saves, including multiple stops on Brandon and Black to keep her team in contention.

ERAU's back line, anchored by Lauren Otto, Ava Forrester, Natalia Sepulveda, and Ella Carnahan limited William Carey to just two shots on goal. Keeper Aubrianne Dupre made a key save in the 63rd minute to preserve the tie.

After a scoreless first overtime, the Eagles finally broke through in the second extra period. Following a corner kick in the 103rd minute, Brandon unleashed a rocket from 25 yards out that kissed the underside of the crossbar and bounced in—her 20th goal of the season and one of the most memorable in program history.
