Eagles Fall to Royals

Prescott, AZ – Embry-Riddle hosted Hope International in the Activity Center Saturday afternoon and the Royals beat the Eagles 64-54.  

First Half: The game started with both teams struggling to find their rhythm. Embry-Riddle managed to keep the game close in the first quarter, ending it with a score of 11-9 in favor of Hope International. The second quarter saw the Royals extend their lead, outscoring the Eagles 20-13, and heading into halftime with a 31-22 advantage.

Second Half: The Eagles came out strong in the third quarter, matching the Royals' intensity and scoring 16 points each. However, Hope International maintained their lead, entering the final quarter with a 47-38 edge. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles continued to fight but were unable to close the gap, ultimately losing 64-54.

Key Performances:

  • Zakiirah King led the Eagles with an impressive 24 points, shooting 8-for-24 from the field and 8-for-10 from the free-throw line. She also contributed 5 rebounds.
  • Mehgan Strickler added 9 points and 7 rebounds, while Ella Schott chipped in with 6 points and 6 rebounds.
  • Micaela Hidalgo was a force on the boards, grabbing 6 rebounds and adding 3 points.
ERAU will play their last game of the regular season on Thursday evening at Life Pacific at 6:30pm Arizona time.
