Embry-Riddle had many runners finish with personal best times to start the 2025 Distance Track season at the NAU Tune Up in Flagstaff on Friday evening.
Mile Run
Nick Logan finished 2nd overall in the mile run with a personal best time of 4:23.77 finishing just one second best the first place runner.
Jacob Ortiz came in 5th followed closely by
Dillon Eisner. Ortiz finished with a time of 4:27.24 and Eisner in 4:27.41 which were both new personal records. Coming in 9th was
Nathan Kutscher. Kutscher finished his mile in 4:33.21 which was another personal best.
Carlos Soto finished in 19th with a time of 4:38.22. Following Soto was
Ben Smith. Smith also ran a personal best with a time of 4:41.60 for his mile.
Nicolas Urquidez ran his race in 4:45.49. Right behind him was
Maxwell Kilstrom who finished in 4:46.18. Rounding out the Eagles in the mile was
Austin Lemus with a time of 4:58.00 and
Ben Kovach who finished with a 4:58.34.
800m Run
Eisner was the only runner to compete in the 800 for ERAU. He finished with a time of 2:05.30 which put him in 18th.
3000m Run
Logan ran his second PR of the day in the 3000m race. He beat his previous best by 27 seconds as he finished in 9:02.64. Ortiz also ran his best by one second as he crossed the finish line in 9:15.16. Smith finished in 6th with a time of 9:16.95. Coming in 8th with another personal best for the Eagles was
Nathan Kutscher. Kutscher finished in 9:19.17. Urquidez and Kilstrom were the next ERAU finishers. Urquidez finished in 9:34.41 followed by Kilstrom in 9:39.10. Kovach was the last finisher for the Eagles in a time of 10:21.54.
Embry-Riddle will return to the track on March 8th in Eagle Rock, California as the Eagles will participate in the Oxy Distance Carnival.
