Ben Smith qualified for NAIA Outdoor Track Nationals on Thursday evening in the 3000m Steeplechase finishing with a time of 9:17.4 just .3 seconds off of a school record as the Eagles competed at the Leopard Invite hosted at La Verne University.
800m runÂ
Carlos Soto, Joseph Fox, and
Trevor Head all raced in the 800m run. Soto led ERAU with a time of 1:58.61 followed by Fox with a 1:58.76 and Head finished with a time of 2:06.64.
3000m Steeplechase
Smith finished 10th overall. He was followed by Shepherd who finished in 9:59.68.
10000m Run
Nicolas Urquidez was the lone Eagle to run in the 10000. He crossed the finish line with a time of 32:23.54. Â
Embry-Riddle will be back on the track tomorrow to run at the Leopard Invite and the Bryan Clay Invite. Â
